Students Visit Rocket IT for Job Shadow Opportunity

Rocket IT was honored to host 11 students from the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology for a job shadow event. On November 13, the students - many of whom are interested in building a career in the field of technology - spent time touring the Rocket IT headquarters in Duluth and learning from the seasoned staff.

Rocket IT Founder and CEO Matt Hyatt shared stories about his path to entrepreneurship and the lessons learned along the way, followed by team members Eric Henderson and Wendy Frank, who described their roles at the company.

“It’s always great to find ways to connect with young people in our community,” said Hyatt. “These bright young men and women are our future and I’m glad we had the opportunity to spend some time with them.”

Job shadowing is an important part of the GSMST Partnership Program. Sophomore students have the opportunity to job shadow twice per school year within industries that they have selected as potential career interests. These experiences will help them prepare for the full internships that are available to juniors and seniors. Rocket IT is currently hosting two interns from GSMST.
